Our Things Are Treasures...

"Treasure" is an excellent word to describe how we feel about our things, whether it's financial wealth, wealth of being, or the treasured memories that our things embody. 

Our homes are often treasure troves, abundant in things we love and value. Sometimes our things accumulate in nests, stashes of things can be part treasure, part junk magnet.

But all too often, our things become a hoard -- an accumulation of things so numerous that they get in the way in our homes and our lives.

Rather than having strength in numbers, our accumulations of things bring us "weakness in numbers:"  having too many things makes it impossible to value them. The sheer mass of things gets in the way; they start to lose their value and become a burden instead, trapping us as prisoners of our hoard, unable to move or make changes we want or need to make...
